About Us
The Simple Psychologist was developed by a team of psychologists and health practitioners who realised there were effective ways to address existing challenges in providing mental health treatment. We take advantage of current technology to improve session efficiency and to ensure you’re getting value from your sessions.
Our approach is collaborative, so we work with you as a team to achieve your therapeutic goals. As the therapeutic relationship with your psychologist is paramount, we have custom-designed our signup process to try and get you the best fit straight away.
Trusted Clinicians & Researchers
Our team have experience in clinical intervention and treatment, education, private practice, and neuropsychological interventions.
Sessions are collaboratively developed to ensure we are working on mental health goals meaningful to you.
This also allows our individual psychologists and yourself to work with the therapeutic approach that is for your individual needs.
Simplicity
Mental health can be complicated enough, so we aim to simplify the process. In doing so, we identified key processes that appeared to predict quality mental health care.
These were; meaningful therapeutic relationships, evidence-based treatment, and tailoring sessions to the patients needs.
To address this, we created a ‘design your therapy‘ questionnaire so you can explore what you would find most helpful in sessions, and we can help you find the right psychologist.
Accessibility
We wanted to improve access in any way we could. This meant addressing the cost of sessions, location, wait times and availability, and scheduling.
By using a telehealth platform that was designed for health services and focusing onreducing overhead expenses, we’re able to provide psychological services that are bulk-billed and available with NDIS funds.. Further, we are not limited by geography, we can see you anywhere in Australia. Also by increasing the availability of hours and cutting the need for travel time there is less disruption to your schedule.
Our Approach
01. Collaborative Therapeutic Alliance
How well your psychologist understands you and your mental health concerns is a significant factor in the process.
Our focus on this aims to provide you with a good fit when you see a psychologist and to feel comfortable in your sessions.
02. Goal Setting & Data Collection
Having clear goals meaningful to you and developing a roadmap to move towards them in a collaborative manner is paramount in your sessions.
We routinely administer relevant measures to track progress across time & identify challenges or roadblocks early, and ensure therapy does not end up going in a circle.
Your use of the strategies and techniques provided outside of your sessions (when you may need to use them most!) is important. So, we provide visuals, interactive tools, and other helpful resources, so you’re supported both in and out of your session.
03. Evidence-Based Practice
Not all psychological strategies share the same level of relevance and efficacy. As such, our team only uses techniques and methods that have shown efficacy in peer-reviewed research.
Our team consistently reviews relevant literature to stay up to date on effective treatment methods.
